This is a fascinating English Victorian honey oak inkstand with plated brass mounts. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are excellent.Presented as a trophy, there is a plaque affixed to the front that is dated 1888. The stand has a pull out storage drawer for documents and small items. The top features two indentations for pen and a double inkwell. Each inkwell has a removable glass liner.
The center of the stand features a solid metal standing figure wearing a star boater hat and impressive mutton chop whiskers holding an oblate disc for the game of Skittles. The inkstand measures approximately 11.5 inches by 7.5 inches deep and 6.5 inches tall to the top of the man's hat. It is in great condition with a lovely untouched warm patina.
There is wear to the silverplated mounts with the underlying brass showing through. Please review the photos for further condition assessment.
