Antique Victorian Irish Bog Oak Locket Grape Cluster Angel Flower Bouquet Carved. We are currently offering for sale: It. This lovely Victorian Irish Bog Oak, handmade and carved Locket. It features a 3D / high relief carved grape cluster and leaves on its face. The back of this (front) panel features an intricately stamped & / or carved Angel standing beneath a star, streaming light upon it. Angel is holding an arrow pointing towards the heavens in its right hand, and a harp in its left hand. The back panel of locket has a carving and / stamped of a flower bouquet with roses and blossom's, (forget-me-nots, pansies or daisies).

Each panel has a lovely carved boarder, and is in excellent condition. The interior carvings- angel and flower bouquet have been protected by the glass covers/ frames and are in exceptional condition. Carvings and impressions are extremely detailed and well done works of art. This piece is even more stunning in person.

Locket has two handmade brass or pinchbeck glass frames, each of which covers and protects the interior carvings, and creates a compartment for holding a photo, lock of hair or tiny keepsake. Glass has some chips on edge(s). Frames are made so glass can be replaced if desired. It is very rare to find original glass frames in in a lock of this age, as most were lost over the more than the approximately 140 years since it was made. Locket measures approximately 1 7/8 inches in length.

Repairs: locket needs clasp replacement. OR repurpose: a bale could be added to the back panel to create a carved flower bouquet pendant, with or without glass frame.
