This is a fabulous, original tiger oak locking perpetual. Calendar file box, circa 1880s. The perpetual calendar is intact and properly functioning. When the drawer slides open, the roll top file opens simultaneously. This may have been used by the railroad because of the inscribed numbering on the inside drawer: "RD 493018".
It measures 8" high x 9 3/4" wide x 8 deep. It contains convenient stationery compartments, pen rest, and storage wells inside. There are reminiscences of attached metal on both sides of the box that probably held handles at one time. The piece is in excellent condition with everything working properly. The photos reveal its fine condition. A word about feedback and ratings: I want buyers to understand that good feedback and ratings are extremely important to me. If you feel that you are not able to leave good ratings for whatever reason please contact me and I will resolve the issue.
