Antique Oak China Closet, Victorian Buffet Bevel Glass Mirror #21341
This tiger sawn oak, antique buffet china closet combo features a curved front, is heavily carved, with a bevel glass mirror. This antique china closet / buffet dates from the 1890s, and consists of a three-drawer double door base, fluted carved vases on the base doors, dainty detail carving across the crest of the shapely bevel glass mirror and a carved fruit basket crest on the very top. It has a couple of small holes above the bevel glass mirror on the right-hand side of the wood.
I would guess it had a shelf there, but it doesn't take away from the beauty of this antique sideboard. We used to get these all the time and they used to sell for thousands, but you can't find them often anymore. Someone hung a mirror on the inside of the top section of the back which covered up the tiger sawn oak panel. It comes with four fully adjustable shelves in the china closet side.
The carving is all intact. The overall size is 56 inches wide, 40 inches high to the commode section, 78 inches high overall and 19 inches wide on the door. The inside is 20 inches wide by 16 inches deep. The height to the top of the bevel glass mirror is 71 inches high. The mirror is 27 inches wide by 24 inches tall. The size of the shelves are 19.5 inches wide by 14.5 inches deep. The shelves all have plate grooves in the back to display your fine china. The shelves are solid tiger sawn oak.
