Century French Carved Oak Bookcase Hunt Cabinet Barley Twist Black Forest Hound. Direct from France, an exceptional 19.

Century, hand carved cabinet/bookcase, in a majestic 8 ft. Tall, yet very slender profile. High carved upper broken pediment crown with dimensional carved cabochon, is flanked by large, turned finials.

Layered, carved moulding above the wide frieze having carved scrolling around a center cartouche with carved keystone blocks. The upper glass door is flanked by full length, barley twist columns, and framed by carved trim. Carved moulding above the full-length drawer, with carved French scrolling across the panel. Lower door flanked by barley twist columns and framed by carved trim. The recessed door panel exhibits more master carver skills, having a dimensionally carved hunt hound, standing on carved forest floor, amidst a carved foliage and floral display!! Quality throughout, well built by craftsmen of the period. A distinctive antique, certainly an exquisite piece for your home and heirloom for future generations. X 35" x 20.75".
